The Nelson City Council upgraded their main chamber system in early 2018 and as part of the works they were looking for a wireless conference system that was reliable, sounded great and was easy to use. Nelson TV & Video Service proposed the Bosch Dicentis Wireless Conference system which was accepted and installed giving the Council an easy to use system which is used during their meetings and also provides the audio for their webcasts.
The Dicentis system consists of a dual channel 2.5/5 GHz auto switching WAP running 23 x DCNM-WD delegate stations. The stations use a short gooseneck mic for crystal clear audio. The system includes an automatic feedback suppression feature which ensure it never “takes off” when the volume is accidentally set too loud. The five, 5 bay chargers ensure a quick charge of the lithium ion batteries (3 hrs to a full charge) although the batteries will last up to 24 hours ensuring 2-3 days worth of meetings between charges.
The WiFi is fully encrypted so there can be no eavesdropping ensuring meetings are kept confidential when required.
The system can be controlled easily via a PC or any smart device such as an iPad using the intuitive web browser based GUI using a number of preset profiles.
